KAMAKURA Gallery
YOKOSUKA Gallery

Gallery Kasagi, a historic art gallery of trust, has 2 galleries situated in the historic town of Kamakura which was the ancient capital of Japan 800 years ago, and in the naval port of Yokosuka.

The previous Jirokichi Kasagi, a painter in early 1900s, is highly-esteemed in Japan's art history after recent discoveries of some of his works in Europe.

Gallery Kasagi mainly introduces oil paintings and drawings by Japan's top-class contemporary artists such as Noriko Tamura or Kazuko Irie, as well as highly-selected pieces by an undiscovered genius woodblock artist, Noboru Yamataka and more.

We also deal in line of Tibetan mandala arts, museum-level excellence, which have been collected from India, China, Tibet and etc. for over 20 years based on our preference.

Never-before-published works of J. Kasagi were displayed along with some representative pieces by Millet, Monet and Gogh in "Denen Sanka ten (Anthem to Countryside exhibition)" held at Museum of Modern Art, Saitama in December 2007.

Although J. Kasagi lost his life as a painter in complete obscurity 70 years ago, his solid skill with artistry is winning high appreciation after some of his works were discovered recently throughout Europe.
